10 members Strategic Policy Group set Punjab congress. 10 members Strategic Policy Group will be set up by the Punjab Congress. On August 20, Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu agreed to set up this group. This group will ensure better coordination between the ruling party and the state government. CM Captain Amarinder Singh group will head, local government minister Brahm Mohindra, finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal, social security minister Aruna Chaudhary, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and 4 party working presidents – Kuljit Singh Nagra, Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Arun Goel besides Pargat Singh. Group will hold weekly meetings to review and discuss state government initiatives that are already under implementation and will also suggest measures to facilitate the same. CM also assigned his cabinet colleagues the task of being available at Punjab Congress Bhawan every day on a rotational basis. Cabinet ministers with MLAs and other party functionaries will discuss issues relating to their constituencies. One minister each will be available at Congress Bhawan for 3 hours (11 am-2 pm) from Monday to Friday. If in any case assigned minister for a particular day is unable to make it then he/she shall arrange for a substitute by consulting any other minister. CM said that this would help in better coordination between his government and party functionaries in the run-up to the 2022 Assembly elections.
