Amul milk price hiked March 1 comes effect across country. On February 28, India’s daily milk supplier, Amul company hiked the price of milk by Rupees 2 across all the country. The company said that the new price will be reflected on all varieties of milk and it will come into effect on March 1, 2022. The company stated that its member unions have increased farmers’ prices, and it is being done because of a rise in the cost of energy, packaging, and cattle feeding cost, hence the overall cost of milk production has increased.
A 500 ml packet of Amul full-cream milk will cost rupees 30. Amul-toned milk variety will cost Rupees 24 and Amul Shakti for Rupees 27. In Ahmedabad, Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, and Mumbai full-cream milk will cost Rupees 60 per litre. The toned milk variety in Ahmedabad will cost the public Rupees 48 per litre, in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Kolkata toned milk will cost Rupees 50 from now on.
