Under section 47 of Motor Vehicles Act , 1988 , owners were not allowed to keep their vehicles for not more than a year in any state other than the state where vehicle is registered . Now this move will be facilitative for people with transferable jobs as they need not to get a new registration mark if they have BH series vehicle .

Motor vehicle tax will be collected for two or 4,6,8 years and after 14 years tax will be collected annually which will be half of the amount previously collected . This facility available for defence personnel , central and state government employees , central / state PSUs and employees of private companies who have offices in five or more states . This move will be helpful in free movement of vehicles from one state to other . The format of BH registration will be YY BH 9999 AA – YY for year of first registration , BH , series code or any random number then any random alphabets .
