Chandigarh Amrit Van new tourist place 35 acres acquired. On July 18, Chandigarh will have a brand new tourist place in the upcoming five years. A couple of months earlier, colony number 4 has been demolished by the administration. After which, almost 35 acres of land was available for the Forest and Wilf Life Department to develop “Amrit Van”. The Industrial Area Administrator, Banwari Lal Purohit admired this concept and asked Forest Department to start working on it.
Amrit Van
Amrit Van is being developed on 14 acres of land. Chief Conservator of Forest and Chief Wild Life Warden Debendra Dalai stated that total 75 plots have been cut to signify 75 years of Indian independence. Various kinds of medicinal trees have been and/or will be planted on these plots in such a way that flowers could bloom in every season.
- Gold Bamboo, Jackfruit, Lemon, Monkey pod, and Silver Oak have been planted.
- 15 kinds of trees will be there- Apple, Indian Black Berry, Guava, Mango, Mulberry, Papaya, Plum, Pomegranate, and Stone Apple will be planted.
Huge Pond- To grab the attention
Apart from trees there will be a huge pond on one acre of land will be built. A check dam will be constructed just as it is at Sukhna Lake. Henceforth, this place will become an educational area and tourist place as well. (Dainik Bhaskar reported)
