CM Kejriwal inaugurated India’s first smog tower in Connaught Place Delhi as a pilot project

CM Kejriwal inaugurated India’s first smog tower in Connaught Place Delhi as a pilot project on August 23 . Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) is the nodal agency of this project . According to senior official of DPCC total project cost Rupees 20 crore , including two years of operational cost . 24.2 metres tall tower is located behind Shivaji Stadium metro station , which will purify 1000 cubic metres of air per second within a radius of 1 km . CM Kejriwal said that more smog towers can be raised as well if pilot project provides favorable results . 40 fans have been installed at the bottom of the tower , air will be sucked from the top of the tower and released through the fans at the bottom after filtration . IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay are technical advisors for the project and two year long pilot study will be undertaken by both of them .

August 23 , Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ne India ke pehle smog tower ko Connaught Place , Delhi mein inaugurate kiya hai .

24.2 metre tall tower Shivaji Stadium metro station ki back side pr located hai joki 1 km radius ki air quality ko improve krega aur per second 1000 cubic metres air ko purify krega .

Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) joki tower ki nodal agency hai , ke senior official ke according project ka total cost Rs. 20 crore ( including 2 years of operational cost ) .

Tower ke bottom pr 40 fans install kiye gye hain , air tower ke top se suck ki jaayegi aur filter krne ke baad bottom ke fans ke through release ki jaayegi .

Set up as a pilot project

CM Kejriwal ne bataaya ki tower ko pilot project ki traah set up kiya hai agar ye project successful rha toh national capital mein aur towers bhi install kiye jaayenge .

Tower air cleaning krega jiske through urban areas se air pollution ki reduction ki study ki jaayegi .

IIT Delhi aur IIT Bombay joki project ke technical advisors hain joki 2 years ki pilot study krenge .
