Delhi Police notice Flipkart Amazon acid sale online
Delhi Police notice Flipkart Amazon acid sale online. On December 15, The Delhi Police issued a notice to Flipkart and Amazon for selling acid online. It is asked why acid is available on e-commerce platforms and the names of sellers who sold such products. The step was taken after it was disclosed that the accused bought acid from Flipkart to attack a 17-year-old girl in Dwarka.
The Delhi Police has arrested all three accused for throwing acid. ANI reported that the victim is in Safdarjung hospital. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that this incident is intolerant to them, how can someone gather so much courage? The strictest punishment should be given to the accused involved in throwing acid at a 17-year-old girl. The safety of every girl child in Delhi is important to them.
The Delhi Commission (DCW) wrote a letter to the chief executive officers of Flipkart and Amazon for easy availability of acid. The letter stated, “Please inform the reason for the availability of acid on the e-shopping platform. Please provide complete details of sellers who placed acid as a product on your platform. Whether license of the seller was checked before posting the acid product on the online platform? If not, please provide reasons for the same. Whether photo ids of those purchasing acid online were sought? If yes, please provide a complete list of the purchasers along with their photo ids. If no, please provide reasons for the same.”
Furthermore, “Please provide details of persons responsible for allowing the sale of acid on the portal along with details of action taken against them.”
