Indian government gave back Air India to Tata Group officially
On January 27, the Government of India handed over Air India to Tata Group. Tata Sons chairman told that their group is very happy to have Air India back. The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey said that Air India has been handed over to the successful bidder which is the Talace Private Limited (a subsidiary of the Tata Group’s holding company). On October 8, 2021, the government had sold Air India to Talace Private Limited for Rupees 18,000 crore.
The Chairperson of the Tata Group Natarajan Chandrasekharan said that they are very happy after the takeover process of Air India is complete. He also added that they are glad to have Air India back in the Tata Group and look forward to working with everyone to create a world-class airline. (PTI reported)
