Sonu Sood no longer Punjab icon Election Commission India. On January 8, the Election Commission of India announced that the appointment of Sonu Sood as the state icon has been withdrawn on January 4, but they did not give any details. He was appointed as the state icon in November 2020 by the Election Commission. Sonu Sood announced that he is stepping down from the State Icon of Punjab voluntarily and took this decision after consulting the Election Commission.

Why did he step down from the state icon?

Sonu Sood told that he took this decision because his sister is going to contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly Election. He took this after consulting the Election Commission of India.

He helped a lot of migrant workers during the COVID 19 pandemic.
