National Voters Day Making Elections Inclusive Accessible Participative
The Election of India will celebrate the 12th “National Voters Day” on January 25. Since 2011, it has been celebrated on January 25 every year, all across India to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (January 25, 1950). The main objective of this day is to encourage, maximize enrollment for the new voters. The day is utilized to spread awareness among voters. Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) along with a personalized letter and a Voter Guidebook will be handed over to newly enrolled voters.
The theme for this year’s National Voters Day
The theme of the NVD is “Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative. The Election Commission of India‘s commitment is to facilitate the active participation of voters during the elections and to make the complete process hassle-free.
Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour for the event
Vice President of India M Vaikaiah Naidu has consented to be the Chief Guest but, due to his inability to attend the function in person, he will address it virtually. Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju will be The Guest of Honour.
