Orphaned children COVID PM Cares scheme extended

Orphaned children COVID PM Cares scheme extended. On February 22, the Ministry of Women and Child Development told that the PM Cares scheme for orphaned children due to COVID 19 pandemic has been extended till February 28, 2022, which was earlier valid till December 31, 2021, only. Every child who had lost both parents due to COVID 19 after March 11, 2020, is covered under this scheme. Provided, a child should not turn 18 years of age on the date of death of his/her parents. 6624 applications had been received by the government for the scheme till January 31, 2022. Only 3855 had been approved out of 6624 applications. People can submit their applications on https://pmcaresforchildren.in. The scheme gives gap funding for education and health.
