Punjab govt provide free sanitary pads every month.
Social Security and Women and Child Development Minister Razia Sultana told at Malerkotla that the Punjab government will provide free sanitary pads at all 27314 aanganwadi centres, ANI reported on December 22.
Under the “Udaan Scheme” pads will be provided to the needy women.
Every month 9 pads will be given to the needy women at Anganwaadi centers.
50 women will be covered in the first phase. 13.65 lakh pads will be given to the beneficiaries each month.
Under this scheme, 1.23 crore pads will be provided.
Razia Sultana also directed to upload sanitary pad record performa on the M-Seva app.
She also added that the Punjab government is making solid efforts to increase the sex ratio of girls in the state.
