Punjab patients Ayushman Scheme treatment restarts PGI Sector 32. On August 6, Few days earlier, PGI Chandigarh stopped the treatment of patients of Punjab under Pradhanmantri Ayushman Scheme. Besides that, GMCH- 32 also refused to give treatment to patients under Ayushman Scheme. The Government of Punjab has not paid 2.20 crore to GMCH-32. However, now GMCH-32 and PGI restarts the treatment of patients under the aforementioned scheme. Deputy Director Administration and Official Spokesperson Kumar Gaurav Dhawan stated that the health secretary of Punjab assured to clear all the dues in the upcoming days. Punjab Health Secretary Ajay Sharma told that old companies were short-listed, due to which this inconvenience has happened.
Pradhanmantri Ayushman Scheme
Under the Pradhanmantri Ayushman Scheme free treatment is provided to the patient up to five lakh. Chronic disease patients takes benefits from the scheme. In fact, chemotherapy is provided to the cancer patients in PGI. It would be very difficult for the cancer patients if scheme is closed.
