MORTH ordered for 4 more airbags in vehicles
Driver and front passenger airbags are already compulsory in all cars. The ministry ordered all the automakers the installation of four-passenger airbags and two side airbags in vehicles from October 1. In the month of January, the ministry published a draft proposal for the installation of six airbags. On January 14, Nitin Gadkari said that it is mandatory for an automobile manufacturer to provide six airbags in vehicles that can carry up to eight passengers. read more
Vehicles will cost more
Car manufacturing companies resisted the decision because the installation of six airbags in vehicles will raise the cost eventually. The ministry stated that having more airbags in the vehicles will save the lives of the people.
