SKM formed 5 members committee talk Government of India. On December 4, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait told that Samyukta Kisan Morcha formed five members committee to talk to the central government on the behalf of the farmers’ union, which will be the authorized body. Balbir Singh Rajewal, Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Ashok Dhawale, Shiv Kumar Kakka, and Yudhvir Singh are the members of this committee. Tikait also added that in the next meeting which will be on December 7, SKM will submit their agenda at 11 AM.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha called off their plan of tractor rally to the Parliament until December 4 for the central government to formally respond to their demands. (ANI reported)
The BJP government repealed the Three Farm Laws (2020) on November 29 and President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent on December 1 but farmers are still protesting on the borders of Delhi because they want the ruling government to respond to their other demands too. They want the BJP government to withdraw cases against farmers, guarantee on MSP, and compensation for martyred farmers, who lost their lives during the protest.
Why does SKM form a committee of 5 members?
India Today reported that Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) formed five members committee as a communication channel. Now central govt can call any of the members named.
