Sri Lanka new president elect July 20 cabinet give resign. On July 11, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said that the new president of Sri Lanka will be elected on July 20, and the nomination for the next president will be represented on July 19. He added that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa would resign from his post on July 13 and the whole cabinet will also resign. People have occupied the president and prime minister’s residences and demanded resignation from them.
Sri Lanka is facing a severe economic crisis. Due to the fuel shortage the 1990 emergency ambulance service been suspended in various areas. The country is facing a shortage of electricity, food, medicine, and other essential goods. People captured the president and prime minister‘s places as they were living a lavish lifestyle whereas people are struggling to fulfill their basic needs.
