PM Modi interacted Toycathon participants. Which is a three-day online program for making India a center point of toy-making. During the video conference, PM Modi said that India imports 80 percent of toys from foreign countries so this circumstance has to be changed. The Toycathon 2021 is a joint program which is launched on January 5th, 2021 by the Ministry of Education, WCD Ministry, MSME Ministry, DPIIT, Textile Ministry, I&B Ministry, and AICTE. Approximately 1.2 lakh participants registered from India, 17000 ideas were submitted out of which 1567 ideas were shortlisted. 1500 teams participated in the grand finale of Toycathon 2021 which showed that India has a bright future in the toy-making industry. PM Modi showed his concern about online games which are not based on the Indian concept and most of them promote violence. He encouraged youngsters to strengthen Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan through making toys because toys and digital games not only enhance critical thinking and creativity but also the economy. The Prime minister lauded participants from Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, etc. because they showcased the Indian spirit through their toys. Participants presented games that were based on Ayurved, mythology, Indian history, and COVID – 19 pandemic.
